Important Native American of the Southeast
Perhaps one of the most capable warriors from the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) tribesmen ever faced by the US military, Makhpiya Luta, his Sioux name, led his people in what is known as Red Cloud’s War. This battle was for the rights to the area known as Powder River Country in Northern Wyoming and Southern Montana. Eventually he led his people during their time on reservation.

History of the Southeast
Before 1500s Cherokee followed their tradition lifestyle.
1500s Europeans came to the Southeast.
1607s British colony was started at Damestow, Virgina.
1776s American colonies declared independence from Great Britain.
1830s Cherokee were forced to move off and go west.

The arrival of the pioneers
America setters moving west created their own folklore and legends. Pioneers and backwoodsmen became popular figures in stories and songs of the day. A pioneer was a person who settled in a part of the country and prepared it for others. A backwoodsman was a person who lived in the forest far away from towns. Daniel Boone was a pioneer. He explored Kentucky and developed the wilderness, he rode a rout followed by many pioneer traveling west.

Florida is a fancy place
I will like to visit Florida because I want to ask the people how the life was in the past, or if they did a war to take the land or if they traded gold for Florida. That’s why I want to go to Florida.

Landforms
One of the landforms is the Kings canyon –view east.
The king canyon is amazing volcanic and geothermal
phenomena. In this picture you can see the Pinnacles national
Monument of California.

Farming
Farmers in these areas grow specific types of crops.
In the West Mountain you will find wheat, potatoes,
cabbage, and onions. Colorado and Montana have
wheat farms. Idaho is famous for its potatoes.

MIDWEST TIMELINE

The Midwest’s timeline says that in the 1840’s there was the California gold rush .Then, it says that in the 1860’s the civil war began. The Midwest timeline also says that there was a war in the 1880’s between Spanish people and Americans. It says that in the 1900’s the United States enters World War I. In the 1920’s the stack market crashed, and in the 1940’s Japan was bombed in the Pearl Harbor.
AN IMPORTANT WOMAN: SACAGAWEA
An important woman of the Midwest is Sacagawea. I’ve seen her in videos from a long time ago about the Midwest; I’ve also seen her on the One dollar coin. I have researched that she is known for accompanying Meriwether Lewis and William Clark during their corps of discovery of the Midwestern United States in 1806.
MIDWEST ATTRACTIONS
Minnesota
The attraction in my region is Minnesota because most of the people I know say that it’s cool and when your there you’ll see alot of buildings and when you’re their you’ll also see cool places.
AN IMPORTANT ALIVE PERSON
An important alive person I found is a woman that discovered a Tyrannosaurus rex; this woman is named Susan Hendrickson.
FUNNY FACT OF THE MIDWEST
Did you know that Midwestern farm named Mitchell corn palace salute to rodeo? I chose this because the palace looks just like pieces of corn.

NATIVE AMERICANS
The Native Americans hunted the animals not only for eating them. They also used them for making cloth. For example, they used the buffalo fur to get warm. They made other items such as baskets. The baskets were used for catching fish, carrying water and for cooking (without burning the basket). Some baskets were decorated .The men used tools for hunting. They showed their sons how to hunt too. So when they grew up they would be good hunters.
THE PIONEERS AND THE NATIVE AMERICANS
The court houses are marked with special paint to the path to get to the trail so the pioneers can get to the north and south. The pioneers traveled 42 miles away from where they came. They did not come with cars because there were no cars, they used horses. When they saw the Native Americans, they started to get angry because they were getting their land but when they started to know each other, they had a great relationship.
FANCY PLACE I WOULD LIKE TO GO IN THE NORTHEAST
I would like to be in this place because it is so relaxing and very peaceful. You can meet different people and taste different food. Also you can have fun! You can see the different birds. You can see the styles that people have and much more. You can maybe see cool things too. You can explore like a scientist. You maybe would see fancy or rich people. You can live in a house where your whole family could fit (or just for yourself). That’s why I want to be in this place.
BODIES OF WATER
NIAGARA FALLS
The Niagara Falls is a beautiful view. Niagara Falls is the largest producer of the electricity in New York. The Niagara river is really close to Canada. The Niagara Falls is in the northeast region. It is a place of beauty and power. These falls are by the border of the United States, and Canada between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, two of the five great lakes. It is one of the natural wonders of north America. A huge sheet of ice covered the land, so about 12,000 years ago, the ice began to melt. Now ,the Niagara is a river.

In May, 1804 Lewis and Clark went in an amazing journey through Louisiana territory. Lewis and Clark fought unknown people, conditions and unexplored lands .Lewis and Clark have been the greatest explorers in the whole world. One journey they did was going to Yankton South Dakota.



Bodies of water
In the west region you can swim in the North Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Ocean is one of the world’s greatest oceans in the world. It covers almost the whole entire earth. Divided by the Equator in two parts: the North Pacific and South Pacific. The southern has thousands of volcanic islands and coral atolls. The western is rim is lined with large lines of volcanic islands. To the north lines the volcanoes and the Bering Sea. The tallest mountain is in the Pacific Ocean it is 33,476 feet. That is more than the Mount Everest is 4,441 feet tall. The deepest trend in the world is in the Pacific Ocean. At the 36,198 feet deep the Mariana trench would meet Mount Everest by 1.4 miles to spare. The volcanic regions on the west, north and east these are known as the ring of fire. These areas of volcanic activity are caused by natural process of titanic plates. In addition to the treat of volcanic eruption, Earthquakes are common along the Ring of Fire.







Mining and Manufacturing
The climate in the west region is very important to its industries. Most of the west region’s climate is hot or dry. In the mountains it’s cool and dry. In the West Mountains, you will find wheat, potatoes, cabbage and onion. Colorado and Montana have wheat farms.
Mining and manufacturing began with the first rush miners.The minerals are used to do manufactured products. Silver, turquoise, and copper are found in Arizona and New Mexico. Turquoise and silver are used to make jewelry.



How were big cities formed?
By 1849 the tiny port of the west had grown into a big city with a population of 100,000. Miners and merchants’ came to the west so they could get some gold. Merchants did goods and services for the miners.

IMPORTANT PIONEERS
In 1804, there were two important pioneers named Lewis and Clark. They were sent by a mayor to go on a type of mission to look for more land and water. Lewis and Clark crossed the Northeast, the Midwest and the West, just to look for land. Those two men today are very famous for what they did.
LANDFORMS
In the Midwest region, there are some types of landforms. For example: the prairie. The prairie is an area where grass can grow healthy, trees are to find in the prairie. The prairie gets very less than any place else. Also there great planes. The Great Plains is a large clearing space of grass. Sometimes it gets a lot of rain. The last landform I am going to talk about is the Badlands National Park, They have dry hills and cliffs. In fact they are called Badlands because it is a National park




THE WAY OF LIVING CHANGED
Back then there different ways of living like in the north America in 1500 AD it began to get crowded the first people to come were from east Asia over a land bridge people don’t know if they got here from the ice age or in 30,000 or about 12,000 BC years ago during the last ice age. People that lived here followed woolly mammoths to eat them and grab the skin to use it for cloth. The people that were hunting didn’t even realize that they crossed the land bridge.

IMPORTANT NATIVE AMERICAN

Chief crazy horse is an important Native American. Crazy horse was born in 1842. He owned a tribe that was named OGLALA BRULE SIOX. He was died at 1877. His father was named RED CLOUD.

An important woman: Sacagawea

Sacagawea was an important woman because she was the woman to serve Lewis and Clark and helped them do an expedition in the 1805 and 1806.

An important native American: Chief Joseph

I think Chief Joseph was important because he never fought but he wanted peace for the Indians.

The Southwest Region

The Southwest region is together because it is the only and smallest region in the United States with four states, which people know as the four corners. It is one of the regions where most people talk Spanish and where there is fresh climate and beautiful landforms. The Southwest region is made up of four states which are Arizo

na, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Rio Grande is the border between Mexico and the Southwest Region.

When and How where the big cities formed and how the way of living changed
In the 1360’s the way of living started to change. People from other countries such as England came to the United States with new inventions and new ways to make clothing. Instead of using animal skin to make clothing they used a sewing machine and some string or wool. Instead of using fire to light up a house, they used electricity which was discovered by Benjamin Franklin.

Bill Tilghman: an important alive person.

Bill Tilghman killed more than 12,000 buffalos in the Southwest region and the Native Americans accused him for that; he was arrested for that but few years later, a friend of him got him out of prison. Bill was poor, but two years later someone hired him to be a sheriff. After seven years of being a sheriff he got the opportunity of naming the four states of the Southwest Region which are Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Native American Tribes It is said that the Navajo lived in hot weather and in a little house called the Hogan. The Navajo wasn’t really called the Navajo, they were called “the people”.

Some funny facts about the Southwest Region are that the Southwest Region is a small region with only four states, and also that the Southwest is also called “el enano”.
