Mining became a key industrial concern in the Upper Midwest. The northern part of the Upper Midwest region, near Lake Superior, contained huge deposits of copper. The mining of the ores required heavy equipment and huge investments. The manufacturing in the mid west are the houses and the doors that are built in the mid west.

African Americans in the Midwest

The African Americans arrived in my region by slavery. Many African Americans were injured because they were hit with a whip by a man that took them as slaves. They never let the slaves go because the people who took the African Americans did not want to work so they took the African Americans away from their family and made them work without giving them something in return. But one day the president made a law for no slavery.
