The Southwest Region

The Southwest region is together because it is the only and smallest region in the United States with four states, which people know as the four corners. It is one of the regions where most people talk Spanish and where there is fresh climate and beautiful landforms. The Southwest region is made up of four states which are Arizo
na, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Rio Grande is the border between Mexico and the Southwest Region.

When and How where the big cities formed and how the way of living changed
In the 1360’s the way of living started to change. People from other countries such as England came to the United States with new inventions and new ways to make clothing. Instead of using animal skin to make clothing they used a sewing machine and some string or wool. Instead of using fire to light up a house, they used electricity which was discovered by Benjamin Franklin.

Bill Tilghman: an important alive person.

Bill Tilghman killed more than 12,000 buffalos in the Southwest region and the Native Americans accused him for that; he was arrested for that but few years later, a friend of him got him out of prison. Bill was poor, but two years later someone hired him to be a sheriff. After seven years of being a sheriff he got the opportunity of naming the four states of the Southwest Region which are Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.


Native American Tribes It is said that the Navajo lived in hot weather and in a little house called the Hogan. The Navajo wasn’t really called the Navajo, they were called “the people”.
Funny facts about the Southwest Region
Some funny facts about the Southwest Region are that the Southwest Region is a small region with only four states, and also that the Southwest is also called “el enano”.
